This project focused on the aerodynamic analysis of a biomimetic falcon model in a controlled wind tunnel environment. The goal was to quantify lift and drag behavior across varying angles of attack and understand how geometry influences flow characteristics. Rather than relying on a predefined setup, we designed and built a complete measurement system from scratch, starting from initial sketches to a fully integrated and calibrated test rig. This included sensor selection, signal acquisition, and ensuring repeatable and reliable data.
The experimental results were then compared with aerodynamic theory to validate trends and identify deviations, linking physical measurements to underlying flow behavior. The project combined hands-on prototyping with analytical modeling and iterative refinement throughout the process. Among more than 50 teams across all engineering disciplines, our work ranked 5th, reflecting both the technical execution and the robustness of the analysis.
